Meet the Rider: Lou Barinka
Being part of the Cycling for Water RAAM 2019 team allows me to participate in a sport that I love in a more meaningful way. I hope to use this experience to raise awareness of global water and sanitation challenges and to raise money for Water For People through charitable donations. Twenty-five percent of people in the world are without safe water and 33% do not have toilets. RAAM provides a unique way to build on our partnership with Water For People and to reaffirm our commitment to social responsibility. Competing for 7-8 days in RAAM is both physically and mentally challenging and the feeling you get crossing the finish line is like no other, but equally as satisfying is knowing that you made a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
